ABOUT AJARN JOE
Ajarn = “Ajahn (Achan, also spelt ajaan, ajarn, acharn and achaan) is a Thai language term which translates as teacher. It is derived from the Pali word acariya, and is a term of respect, similar in meaning to the Japanese sensei, and is used as a title of address for high school and university teachers . . .” https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/ajahn
For more than twenty years, I taught students writing, reading, grammar, literature, logic, and more in high schools in the USA and in international schools. When teaching writing, I wrote comments on the students’ writing, teaching the students themselves how to correct their work. I can correct your work myself, teach you to correct it, and/or write it myself.
But this website is more than just a writing website. I love fishing, reading, logic, and intelligent discussion, so I will write about these subjects and more, and I will model clear, accurate, grammatically correct writing.
I always enjoy reading questions from students or readers about grammar, writing, reading, pronunciation, vocabulary, formal vs. informal or anything else for that matter!
Some of my former students have become successful “vloggers,” or “Youtubers” as they are popularly called. They have inspired me to attempt some video work in the future.
I would sincerely appreciate your replying to my writing if it irks you, provokes you, irritates you, or even pleases you! You are certainly welcome to “like” and/or “follow” my work as well.
If you would like me to proofread, edit, or otherwise comment on your work, please let me know. If your text is short, I will likely check it for free. If it is longer, and you want me to, I will check it for a nominal fee.
